My name is Tracey Vento and I am your Parental Involvement Worker.
What is Parental Involvement?
Children have two main educators in their lives:
1) Their parents or carers
2) Their teachers
Parents/carers are the main educators until children begin school and you remain a major influence on how your children progress throughout school and beyond. Therefore, both you and the school have a crucial role to play. Research shows that the impact upon children is far greater if parents and schools work together in partnership.
What is a Parental Involvement Worker?
My job is to make it easier for parents/carers to become involved with school. I am here to be a link between you and school, and also to provide you with new opportunities such as new activities, training courses and social events.
I want to make sure that this school is a welcoming environment for parents/carers and that your involvement is valued.
I will try to resolve any issues raised by parents/carers and make sure there is regular, meaningful communication between home and school.
I am also available to parents/carers as a means of individual support in relation to issues such as; coping with children's behaviour, improving attendance/punctuality or developing your own learning and skills.
How to get hold of me?
I am based within school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during school hours, but I can make appointments to see parents/carers at other times if necessary.
I can be contacted via the main office number 01274 545743, my mobile 07906540746 or by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I also hold coffee mornings/afternoons where you can come and discuss things with me and meet other parents/carers. Please check your weekly newsletter for dates.
