Bishop Marcus' Visit to St William's

On Wednesday 21st February, we welcomed Bishop Marcus - the Bishop of Leeds, along with Canon Jim and Fr Matthew Habron to St William's to meet our school community and to bless our new school chapel.

The visit included a liturgy in the main hall attended by parents, parishioners, staff and governors along with children from across school.

During the liturgy, Keelan read from St Paul's letter to the Ephesians and Madeeha read a prayer of intercession along with Mr Urry, Miss Parker and Mrs Naik.

Bishop Marcus visit included the blessing of our new school chapel and during the liturgy, the bishop visited the chapel along with our Mini Vinnies and Canon Jim to bless the chapel and see the special space for himself.

Following a specially adapted version of 'He's Got the Whole World in His Hands', Bishop Marcus received a special gift from Aleem and Iyra - a wooden cross containing the thumb prints of every child and member of staff from St William's, specially gift wrapped and presented by our oldest and youngest children in school.

After the final blessing, Bishop Marcus spent time with parishioners, staff and parents - sharing a cup of tea and coffee!
